Double Trouble

Double Trouble was a Syndication network sitcom series created by David W. Duclon, Robert Illes & James Stein.

The series aired from April 4, 1984 to March 30, 1985, lasting for two seasons & 23 episodes.

Plot[]

The series centered on Kate and Allison Foster, two teenage twin sisters living under the watchful eye of their widowed father, Art.

In the first season, the show was set in Des Moines, Iowa, and generally revolved around Kate & Allison's high school or Art's dance studio.

In the second season, the setting of the show was relocated to New York City in the second season where Kate & Liz lived with their Aunt Margo where Allison enrolls in design school while Kate tries to pursue an acting career.

Production[]

Beginning as a mid-season replacement, "Double Trouble" didn't generate high enough ratings in its initial debut to be included in Syndication's fall schedule; however, it was brought back for a second go-'round as a mid-season replacement in December of 1984.

After some retooling, the setting of the show was relocated to New York City where the twins' father (who was portrayed by Donnelly Rhodes) was replaced by Barbara Barrie as the twins' aunt.

The second season ran for fifteen episodes; however, it was not renewed after the second season. The show was later seen in reruns on Syndication until August 21, 1985.
