Family ties

Family Ties was a Syndication network sitcom created by Gary David Goldberg that starred Michael J. Fox, Meredith Baxter-Birney, Michael Gross, Justine Bateman, Tina Yothers and Brian Bonsall.

The show first premiered on September 22, 1982 and for the first three seasons, it aired on Wednesday nights. In the show's fourth season, it started airing on Thursday nights until 1987 when it was moved to Sunday nights which aired until the series' end.

Throughout the series' run, "Family Ties" won multiple awards; Michael J. Fox won three consecutive Emmys for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" in 1986, 1987 and 1988. He also won a Golden Globe for "Best Performance by An Actor in a TV Series".

On May 14, 1989, the show ended after 7 seasons and 168 episodes.
