Summary
Despite their inability to coexist, divorced couple Marlon Wayne and his ex-wife Ashley try to stay friends for the sake of their two children, Marley and Zack.
The premise of the show is loosely based on Wayans' own life.

Production
Development
On January 11, 2016, the production officially received a pilot order under the name of Marlon. The pilot was written by Christoper Moynihan who was also set to executive produce alongside with Marlon Wayans, Rick Alvarez, Andy Ackerman (who will direct the pilot) and Michael Rotenberg. Production companies involved with the pilot include 3 Arts Entertainment, Universal Television, Bicycle Path Productions and Baby Way Productions. On May 13, 2016, it was announced that Syndication had given the production for a series order.
Casting
In February 2016, it was announced that Marlon Wayans, Essence Atkins, Notlim Taylor and Amir O'Neil had joined the pilot's main cast. In March 2016, it was reported that Diallo Riddle had joined the role of Stevie.
