The People's Choice

The People's Choice was a Syndication network sitcom series created by Irving Brecher, starring Jackie Cooper in the lead role.

The show aired from October 6, 1955 to September 25, 1958, lasting for three seasons & 104 episodes.

It was produced by Norden Productions and was primarily sponsored by The Borden Company.

Plot[]

The series was about Socrates "Sock" Miller, a former Marine and a young politician living in fictitious New City, California.

Sock has a basset hound named "Cleo", whose thoughts (voiced by Mary Jane Croft) and baleful observations of Sock's dilemmas, are recorded on the soundtrack for the viewers' amusement.
